Declaration of Freedom - My 10 Wasted Years

It was after reading this post from JamesJJones.com that I made the definite and final decision to create enough supplementary income for myself to live the type of life I wanted to live.

"That's it", I said no more excuses to myself about not having enough time.  I would find the time.  No more bemoaning the cost of getting started, I would find a way!

In his article, James tells of how he started a publishing idea that he "perfected" for 10 years.  Finally he just went ahead and advertised it despite feeling that it was not finished.  He had amazing results.

Read the post here for yourself, it's very refreshing.-->

Here is a quote from it:
"The day was Jan 13, 2002. The day I knew I would never have to work for anyone else ever again. (and I quit my job on Oct 25th, 2002 but that’s a post for another time)"

The lesson I took away from it was that the things that I have been working on and perfecting all this time may seem to me are just not ready for public exposure, but the real test is to et the market decide.  I'll let you know how my future progress goes.

Until next time, All the best, BrightMark

Building A Master Keyword List

Building A Master Keyword List

By Christopher Ferrant

Building a master keyword list is a very important step in having a profitable online business, keywords help with SEO (search engine optimization), pagerank and building traffic to your website. It is not the quantity of your keywords that count it is the quality and placement of the keywords that count. I assume that you made your decision on what the topic or niche is, and I also assume that you found the right choice by pitting your choices against eachother and brainstorming. Use your seed word to start with. A seed word is basically what you are going to expand on to start making your master keyword list.

You need some keyword generating tools...
You are going to need some keyword generating tools, tools like Good Key Words, Overture’s keyword selector tool, Google Keyword Tool, Wordtracker and Site BuildIt are all great tools, Overture’s Keyword tool, Googles Keyword Tool and Good Key Words are all free tools, Wordtracker and Site BuildIt are not free but have tons more features, also Wordtracker is included with Site BuildIt so you can get both for one price. Once you have these tools you are ready to begin building your master keyword list.

Put In Your Seed Word And Build Off That
What you need to do is put in your seed word and build off that. try and get as many keywords as possible right now, we will refine and tune the list later. Think of every keyword that you can that is related to your site concept. Even try using misspellings when finding keywords. Misspellings actually get good numbers when it comes to searches. things like optimization, home based business, vitamins and so on. Also think of all keywords that are related in any way. If your site is about vitamins other keywords that would work would be health, nutritional supplements, cheap vitamins, diet, nutrition, bodybuilding and so on. These one word keywords can be a little to generic however so use phrases like body building vitamins, top ten vitamins, wholesale vitamins etc.Use things like:

Location
City, state, country, zip code to add to some of your generic broad keywords

Adjectives
Cheap, affordable, wholesale, quality, etc.

Descriptors
Do you sell just one vitamin or lots of vitamins, blue vitamins, chewy vitamins etc.

Competitors
Use your competitors name and url in your keyword list this way when people search for your competitor your site comes up as well.

Brand Names
If you're selling chainsaws use specific models like craftsman 16? gas chainsaw.

Get descriptive with your keywords
- The more descriptive your keywords, the less completion there is, and the more targeted your keywords the more targeted your visitors will be, read article “The Importance Of Niches And Targeting” to find out more about targeted traffic.

Another good way to get keyword ideas...
Is to do a search in the search engine for you seed word. Once the results come up you can go to each of you competitors and once in their site click “View” “Source” in your browsers navigation bar it will bring up that sites HTML code and then look for that sites keywords. This is a good way to use your competitors to your advantage. Another tip to remember when finding keywords is to think like your target. If you were looking for your sites concept on a search engine what would you type in. Always think like your visitors. Also try to find keywords that you can build your interior webpages around. Site BuildIt has a good feature of showing you the supply, demand and profitability of your keywords so you can fine tune your list easily.

Refining Your Keyword List
In this part we are going to discuss refining and tuning your keyword list. You already got a huge list of keywords related to your site now lets chop it down to get really targeted. First things first get rid of very broad keywords like, business, baseball, travel etc. These keywords are just too broad and results in super high competition. Also mostly the broad keywords are dominated by brands like Ebay, etc.Toss keywords that aren’t really relevant to your niche. Keep an eye out for keywords that you can build interior pages around. We are going to discuss the site layout later in future post that will clear this up for you better.

Always do your homework
Look at the numbers that come up with your keywords don’t get to hung up on them, but you should take them into account. Site BuildIt and Wordtracker are two great tools for finding keywords and analyzing them. You want to make your keyword list as targeted as possible with little competion and good demand. Look for quality keywords that can contribute to your site not quantity. Quantity keywords may bring in traffic but most won’t convert to sales, quality keywords will.

Always remember keywords are a big part of a profitable online business, they are the reason for traffic finding you, so don’t cut corners.
