Well, for the last several weeks I've been living in a fog of happiness as I carry my MacBook to and from work with me, using it on the train and getting the new computer up to speed with how I work.
I've been using the program I previously blogged about called Instant Article Wizard Pro to generate content starters and articles for my main web site: Freedom Steps with Property Investing and other blogs that I have or plan to have.
This program IAWP is a very clever program, access is based on a monthly subscription.
What it does is take the keyword you enter and then using the particular resource you select, eg Google, Yahoo, Articles, Blogs etc, it searches for content containing the keyword you entered.
But you might say, IAWP is a Windows program, and you would be right.... I have installed VMWare Fusion on my MacBook and it works perfectly allowing me to run both Windows WP and OS X.
It then groups the content sentences it brings back into subtopics and so you can easily compile articles with content based on the primary keyword and related subtopics.

Macbook the Wonderful and How to Make it Better
My new MacBook Core 2 Duo is wonderful.
How wonderful you ask. Well in the article that follows I will contrast the difference between it and my main computer at home which is a PowerMac Dual Processor G5. After that I will contrast my new MacBook with the PC I use at work.
Just a little background:
In my daytime life I am an analyst programmer for a large organisation, I am part of a team that works on a very large and complex web based application that can be described using all manner of jargon filled sentences... The terms XML, XSLT, Java, Server Based Applications and many other high falutin sounding stuff is essence of my day job. The team I work with uses Eclipse to manage and edit the application.
On the PC I use at work Eclipse takes for ever to start (greater than 1 min.), even though it has 2 Gb of RAM. I installed Eclipse on my G5 at home with only 1.5 Gb of RAM and it started and ran much faster.
But, and a short dramatic pause is needed here, on my new MacBook it starts in about 15 seconds.
If you've ever used Eclipse, you must be impressed with it. Anyhow, suffice to say, it is memory intensive BUT on my new MacBook it runs perfectly, even after I added a web project with several thousand files for it to manage. I love it.

6 Ways to Speed Up Your Macbook For Free

We all know that installing 4gb of RAM will speed up a Macbook and make the whole experience that little bit more smoother and quicker - but what can you do NOW for FREE that will help speed your bundle of joy along and keep it's user happier? I will tell you 6 things that will help.
1. Remove files from the desktop
Each time that OS X loads it has to index the contents of the desktop, create thumbnail icons for each file and catalog the contents of each folder there.
Do yourself a favor and move those files to the relevant folders they belong in. This will increase the speed at which your desktop loads and therefore make your Macbook faster.
2. Remove unwanted start up applications
Go into System Preferences and User Accounts. View the list of applications that have been set to start against your user name and remove (untick) any that you don't need any longer.
It's great to have iChat start automatically - but not essential.
You can view a list of applications running in the background by using the top command from the Terminal window or by using the Activity Monitor application.
3. Disable the Dashboard
This is my favorite "speed up" fix for the Macbook and it works wonders each time. The OS X dashboard is great if you use it all the time, but each one of those swish little widgets and web clips is taking up memory - and you can't even see them unless you ask for them!
To disable the dashboard, open Terminal and enter the following command:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES
You can then either reboot the Macbook or enter the following command into the Terminal window:
killall Dock
If you miss your weather widgets and stocks information, you can reverse the command by entering:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO
And again either reboot or enter:
killall Dock
4. Clear the PRAM (intel Macbooks only)
Reboot your computer while holding down the command + option + p + r keys together. Don't stop until you have heard the start up chime three or four times.
This is not a real way of speeding up your Macbook, but it will kill any gremlins that have worked their way into the non-volatile RAM settings. I found that it seemed to allow my Macbook to boot faster.
5. Clear the PMU (Macbook, Pro and Air)
You can use this method to clear non-volatile RAM and settings on the Macbook products. Whilst it will not cause your Macbook to suddenly leap into speed mode, it will get rid of any mis-configurations and setting issues.
Macbook, Macbook Pro
- Ensure that the Macbook is turned off.
- Remove the power adapter and remove the battery.
- Press and hold down the power button for 5 seconds and then release.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter.
- Press the power button to restart the Macbook.
Macbook Air
- Ensure that the Macbook Air is turned off.
- Connect the power adaptor to a working power source.
- On the Macbook Air keyboard, press (left) Shift-Control-Option along with the power button once.
Note: You must use the keys on the left side of the Macbook Air keyboard. - Wait 5 seconds and press the power button to start the Macbook Air.
6. Disable unneeded system options.
If you are not using Wireless, Bluetooth, Speech Recognition or Internet Sharing - then turn them off! Not only will you see a speed increase but you will save battery life too!

Finally... It's a Mac
Well I finally bought my laptop computer. It's a MacBook 13.3" with an extra 2 Gig of ram. I also got VMware Fusion and Windows XP service pack 3 to enable me to run Instant Article Wizard Pro and Micro Niche Finder as well as several other programs that I have that will only run on Windows.
After such a long decision process it feels like I've been waiting for the birth of a baby. I'm very excited about finally having bought a laptop and I am keen to start using it for the purposes that I bought it for.
Well I pick it up in a couple of days, and then my happiness will be complete...

One of their newest creations is the MacBook. This product specifically was made to replace the iBook G4 series, that was released in 2006.
Apple is constantly coming out with the newest technology including media players, mp3 players, and smart phones. One of their newest creations is the MacBook. This product specifically was made to replace the iBook G4 series, and was released in 2006. Since then there have been several revisions to the MacBook as well as several different "generations." This laptop is made especially for mac users obviously, but there are other people that have been PC users their entire lives and have bought into the Mac family. I'm not sure I would buy a mac only because I'm a PC girl at heart, but I just might reconsider it after all the hype Apple has received! The MacBook family comprises of several different versions. Thus far the newest and most updated MacBook was released in 2008 and uses a GM965 chip with Intel's x3100 graphics.
The following MacBooks are the different versions available to the consumers:
MacBook -
Consumer Notebook
13.3" screen with polycarbonate casings
MacBook Air -
13.3" wide screen LED display
Ultralight Notebook -
13.3" screen with aluminum casings
Professional Level Notebook -
15.4" or 17" screens with aluminum casings
Several different "options" are included with the Macs including iTunes, iWork, Customizations, iCal, iChat, etc. These products must be expensive if they offer all this right? Wrong! In fact, truth be told, if you go ahead and buy any of the Macs off Apple, then yes you will pay full price. But if you're like every other person, you will want to find the best price even if it doesn't come straight from the company that makes them. The best thing you can do is try places like EBay and Amazon. Hey listen, just because it's from EBay or Amazon or some other auction site, doesn't mean you are going to receive a cheap item. All this means is you will be saving yourself hundreds of dollars, and who doesn't LOVE to save money?!?
Looking at the MacBook on Apple and then comparing it to one found on EBay (which is brand new, in the box, everything included) the price is quite different. MacBook on Apple is about $1,099 and on Ebay the lowest price is around $500. Now that is something you absolutely cannot beat. Again, just because you buy it on Ebay doesn't mean its used. Now if you want to get it even cheaper, go ahead, buy it used or refurbished on Ebay. But if you are worrisome about the quality then get the "new still in box" one. Either way, your saving yourself a ton of money!

Apple MacBook Pro Laptop - Any Good?
I'm tending to a 13" Apple MacBook because I want to carry it to and from work and use it on the train and that is the lightest version of the MacBook.
Since the recent release of the new model of the MacBook and MacBook Pro I'm wondering whether I should fork over the extra $$'s for the new model or get hold of the supercede one which is still available from various retail outlets right now.
If any one has any experience in this area with the different models and their virtues and disadvantages could you post a response. I would greatly appreciate it.

As you can tell by my recent posts, my search for a new laptop goes on. I thought I had it solved when I was able to negotiate an extremely cheap price for a new HP DV5. but alas it did not prove to be the computer I was hoping for.

MacBook Air Vs ThinkPad X300

Apple's MacBook Air introduced the world to the thinnest notebook to date. Released in January of 2008, it is known as "ultrathin, ultraportable, and ultra unlike anything else." With the recent announcement of the new ThinkPad X300 from Lenovo, analysts are predicting that the ThinkPad will give Apple a run for it's money. The following is a brief review of each.
MacBook Air
The new Apple MacBook Air comes in a bit thinner than the Lenovo ThinkPad X300, measuring only 0.16 inches at its thinnest point. Steve Jobs actually introduced the new laptop to a crowd of onlookers at the Macworld Conference in San Francisco, by pulling the ultra thin notebook out of an office envelope. With a price tag of just under $2000, this notebook is a bargain in a class of laptops that are usually a bit more pricey.
Because the MacBook Air is so thin, the battery must be built in. Early tests are reporting about two to three hour battery life between charges. Other drawbacks include no built in GPRS/Edge etc, no optical drive, one USB port, and no choice of pointing device. Though it was designed for an SSD flash drive, it can also be purchased with an iPod drive, and Apple is expected to upgrade the drive by the end of the year. Despite some of these early drawbacks regarding features, overall this is a beautiful looking and very durable laptop, which Apple should improve upon over the upcoming year.
ThinkPad X300
Though not as sexy as the MacBook Air, the ThinkPad is built with the business user in mind. While the MacBook air is a consumer machine, this laptop is built more to be a business tool. The ThinkPad has a replaceable battery, replaceable optical drive, and three USB ports, compared to only one on the MacBook Air. The ThinkPad keyboard includes both Touchpoint and Touchpad pointing devices, a very durable / industrial strength built frame, a full set of management tools, and a more advanced flash drive. The ThinkPad also complies with EPEAT Gold, meaning it is one of the most "green", eco-friendly laptops on the market.
Which one is better?
Along with all of the executive minded features of the ThinkPad, comes an executive level price tag. The ThinkPad X300 will be initially made available for around $2,799. So if cost if your main bargaining point, then the sub $2000 MacBook Air is your best bet. Otherwise, your decision should be based on needs. The ThinkPad is designed for the top executive that is always on the run. ThnkPads have never really been known for being "sexy" products, but they have always been thin, while still being reliable. But if you are looking for something ultra thin and ultra cool, at a great price, and you don't need all of the high end business type features of the ThinkPad, then the MacBook Air may be your best bet.
Only time will tell which one comes out on top, but these are both great, innovative products that should spur the ultra thin laptop market for years to come.

My next computer... MacBook, MacBook Pro or PC Laptop
Which computer to buy??
I desperately need a laptop computer to enable me to utilise the two hours a day I spend on the train going to and from work.
I have been struggling with the question of which computer to buy.
I have been examining the options and deciding between the various models of MacBook and MacBook Pro and also being tempted by the much cheaper proces of similar hardware in the PC world.
My problem is that I must be able to run several windows programs on whatever laptop that I eventually end up getting. So my line of thought goes something like this:
I desperately need a laptop computer to enable me to utilise the two hours a day I spend on the train going to and from work.

- My first preference is to buy a Mac laptop computer of some sort and find a way to run Windows on it. My preference for the variety of Windows is XP, just because it is so much less bloated and more reliable than Vista.
- Alternatively I will spend way less money and buy a PC laptop, and then I might try to find a way to install OS X on the PC.

What"s the easiest way to run Windows Programs on my Mac
I'm still experimenting with both of these methods and I'll let you know how they go in a future post.
- If you have a newer Intel processor based Mac then there are a number of ways that you can go about running windows on your Mac computer, depending on what you wanted to achieve. Probably the easiest way is to use Bootcamp Assistant that comes installed on your mac when you buy.
All you need to do is run Bootcamp Assistant, select the partition size you would like to assign to your windows operation system and click continue. With gas prices rising out of control, many people are looking for information on how to build an HHO cell. These popular gas saving devices utilize inexpensive parts that can be found at any local hardware store, along with plain tap water to improve fuel economy and clean up emissions.
An important thing to remember when looking at how to build an HHO cell, is not to get caught up thinking there are several different designs as some would lead you to believe. Although there are some neat deviations from the original design, such as the 6-pack for big trucks, all of them still operate on the same basic principle.
HHO cells are also known as HHO generators or hydrogen gas savers, and operate by actually generating HHO gas directly from water. HHO gas itself is a hydrogen/oxygen gas mixture which is created through the process of electrolysis. Electrolysis is nothing but a fancy term for passing an electrical current through water. The electrical current will be provided by your vehicles battery/alternator.
In order to supplement gasoline usage, HHO gas is directed from the cell to the engine air intake via a vacuum tube. After entering the intake, it travels with the air into the engine where it will supplement the gasoline for combustion.
That being said, the basic design consists of a water reservoir, electrolysis parts, tubing, and some hardware to mount the reservoir underneath the hood. Beyond that, there is not much when it comes to how to build an HHO cell. There is some simple wiring involved as well. You will generally wire the electrolysis equipment so that it is on anytime the engine is running, but you can also wire it up with an on/off switch ran to your cars cabin for easy operation.

Like I said before, if you want to win the good projects on Elance and make some real money (not just for peanuts), the first thing you need to know is how to choose your battles. Just bid on projects worth bidding on, or at least can turn into a project worth bidding on (some buyers don’t know how to come up with a useful brief, but sometimes you can help).

Like I said before, if you want to win the good projects on Elance and make some real money (not just for peanuts), the first thing you need to know is how to choose your battles. That being said, below are some types o projects you DON’T want to bid on. In fact, you should run like crazy when you see posts similar to these.
I made some comments too, so if you are a client looking to hire me, you might want to read this posts first. Don’ take it personally… it’s for your own good.
- “I have many projects for you, so bid accordingly” - What does “bid accordingly mean”? I know what it means… means you want me to work for peanuts, don’t you? In this case, let’s not hide behind fancy words and false promises. Just say “I’m looking for cheap work and don’t care about image, so if you do this one for a nickel, there’s more where that came from”. I think I’ll say pass!
- “I need a clone of the following website” - You also don’t care a lot about image and I have a feeling you expect this to cost you close to nothing. After all, you provided all the “creative input”, right? I just “did some HTML”. No, I don’t think I want to be associated with plagiarism and cheap work. No thanks!
- “I want blue rounded corners with a 2px white border” - Wow, I’m amazed! You seem to know so much about web graphics. I’m sure we’ll get along great and you will be able to help me with a thing or two. I always love to hear a good Photoshop tip from one of my clients. NOT!!! Sorry, my friend, but this is not the kind of brief I expect from clients. I expect the kind of “tell me your needs, your goals, your expectations” kind of brief. Throw in a site structure, the website content and maybe some style preferences and we’re good to go. Give me too much design related details and I know for sure that you’ll make my life miserable in the next couple of weeks.
- “I need a website for my company” - That’s good to know. I was afraid you’re gonna need me to build you a space shuttle or something. Duuhh! Of course you need a website! After all, your project is listed under Website Design & Development. To such a project description, my estimate can only be this: it will cost between $500 and $50000 and it will take between 3 and 365 days to complete. Come on! Give me something to work with. This is the exact opposite of point 3.
- “We had a good designer who designed themes in WordPress for $150 each. That is a comfortable price point for us” - Can I have his number? I have a job for him! Now seriously… even free themes are worth more than that. But I guess it’s true what they say: you get what you pay for. Sorry, but I’m more “comfortable” with clients who appreciate my work.
And a little bonus: 2 more quotes, with no comment. I think they fall into the funny / weird category:
- A client’s idea for a blog header: “Animation of a mechanic opening the hood of a car to check out the engine”
- A client’s request: “I am looking for someone that would be prepared to come to my home for a few hours - to go through the basics of Wordpress with me”

Maxwell Maxwell sat in the small shabby office of Jerry Jerryson, the editor in chief of a quaint small time local variety rag called the Minutely Marvelous: The Minutiae You Need to Know Each Minute.
It didn’t do that well but it survived on the readership of a small clientele of kooks. He had been writing bits and pieces for them for years. He was not necessarily proud of it all, but it put food in the damp corner of his apartment that stayed cool no matter what time of year it was. But he had heard it whispered around shadowy water coolers that they at the Minutely were expanding their operation into web content also in an effort to stay afloat.
Well, he never knew they had it in them. It was all very high fangled and new tech. It was hard to keep up these days. Until two months ago he had done all his work on an antique Broham manual typewriter. Then the space key had broken and all his sentences started coming out in the way he talked to pretty girls, and when he tried to get it fixed, he found out they didn’t make parts for it anymore. They didn’t make the Broham period. Even typewriters were electric these days. He didn’t even know if he had a power socket in his apartment.
So he had bought a computer from a second hand store and had spent the better part of a fortnight trying to figure out how to set it up. He had been having so much trouble he had asked his landlady to take a look when she came around for one of her illegal drug lab checks – that is to say she was checking for illegal drug labs, although her intrusions were probably illegal too, but what did he care, he didn’t run a drug lab. Anyway, upon surveying his grimy turtle skin grey machine, she had barked out a phlegmy guffaw and remarked that his ‘new’ computer was twenty years old! There had been about five hundred obsolete models made after this one. It didn’t even have a CD-rom drive.
When was Jerry going to say something? They had been sitting there staring off into space for three solid, dust mote hazed minutes…
“Maxwell!”
Here we go.
Investment! It’s a hot topic!
“I’ve got a job for you! Investment! It’s a hot topic! People want to know about it! And you’re going to write the articles that will inform them! They’ll be for a client that runs a fledgling website! Can you handle it!”
“How much?”
“Well, there’s like a bagillion combinations of keywords that inquisitive minds type into their search engines Max! I need an article for each combination, permutation and aberration! So take your pick! It’s practically infinite!”
“No, how much will you pay me for each article?”
“Oh… standard rates now… one cent a word! Around Five hundred words! You do the mathematics! I was never any good at it! I was always best at debating in my school years! I handled the rebuttals! Had the other team scared stiff!”
Five hundred words. One cent a word. Five bucks an article. Standard rates indeed. Good heavens. It wasn’t even enough to buy the kilo of shitake mushrooms that he would need to get his shitake mushroom risotto on, which he had been hankering to do ever since watching that TV chef on the early morning program whip one up. He would have to write… ten articles? Or more? Who was he kidding, he didn’t know how much shitake mushrooms cost. He’d never bought shitake anything before in his life. He just liked saying the name. In his head.
“This is the only job you’ve got for me? I mean I can write anything you need: local council development projects, agony aunt columns, natural disasters, movie reviews, phoney editorials…”
“Good! You’ll write this!”
“But I don’t know anything about investing!”
“Hey! No need to get all hot under the collar! Use your indoor voice!”
“Sorry.”
“Anyway, use the internet! Do your research!”
“You want me to write pieces for the internet using information from the internet?”

Ah, he was something of a hero in the office that week. It was actually a very strange and, in fact exhilarating case. But that type of thing was all in the past. They thought he was over the hill. The only assignments they gave him now were penis enhancement testimonials and diet pill pseudo-science. Oh, and this investment property hokum-jokum. He could see it now:

Damn your lead tongue Maxwell Maxwell. The chief had picked up the phone:
“HELLO! YEAH BABY, I’M GOING TO SEX YOU UP TONIGHT! WELL, KEEP IT WARM FOR ME! HOLD ON A SECOND–”
He put the phone in the crook of his armpit.
“Max, it’s my wife, I’m going to have to take this! You get on that assignment and I’ll see you later! Oh here, don’t forget the brief and the notes! Now remember, you have to repeat each keyword in each of the combinations at least four times in each article! That way the site will get more hits! Get to it!”
“Alright chief. I’m on it.”
“WELL, WHAT ARE YOU WEARING NOW!”
Max left the office and Teresa smiled at him as he walked past her desk. He managed what he imagined to be a ghastly rictus of amiability in return and walked the rest of the way to the fire escape head down, cheeks burning – his natural state. The fire escape. The elevator had been broken for as long as he could remember. Anyone who, for whatever reason, wanted to visit at the Minutely Marvellous had to climb five flights of stairs to reach their offices. “Keeps us all sprightly!” The chief would say.

The Minutely Marvelous
Maxwell Maxwell sat in the small shabby office of Jerry Jerryson, the editor in chief of a quaint small time local variety rag called the Minutely Marvelous: The Minutiae You Need to Know Each Minute.
It didn’t do that well but it survived on the readership of a small clientele of kooks. He had been writing bits and pieces for them for years. He was not necessarily proud of it all, but it put food in the damp corner of his apartment that stayed cool no matter what time of year it was. But he had heard it whispered around shadowy water coolers that they at the Minutely were expanding their operation into web content also in an effort to stay afloat.
Well, he never knew they had it in them. It was all very high fangled and new tech. It was hard to keep up these days. Until two months ago he had done all his work on an antique Broham manual typewriter. Then the space key had broken and all his sentences started coming out in the way he talked to pretty girls, and when he tried to get it fixed, he found out they didn’t make parts for it anymore. They didn’t make the Broham period. Even typewriters were electric these days. He didn’t even know if he had a power socket in his apartment.
So he had bought a computer from a second hand store and had spent the better part of a fortnight trying to figure out how to set it up. He had been having so much trouble he had asked his landlady to take a look when she came around for one of her illegal drug lab checks – that is to say she was checking for illegal drug labs, although her intrusions were probably illegal too, but what did he care, he didn’t run a drug lab. Anyway, upon surveying his grimy turtle skin grey machine, she had barked out a phlegmy guffaw and remarked that his ‘new’ computer was twenty years old! There had been about five hundred obsolete models made after this one. It didn’t even have a CD-rom drive.
When was Jerry going to say something? They had been sitting there staring off into space for three solid, dust mote hazed minutes…
“Maxwell!”
Here we go.
Investment! It’s a hot topic!
“I’ve got a job for you! Investment! It’s a hot topic! People want to know about it! And you’re going to write the articles that will inform them! They’ll be for a client that runs a fledgling website! Can you handle it!”
“How much?”
“Well, there’s like a bagillion combinations of keywords that inquisitive minds type into their search engines Max! I need an article for each combination, permutation and aberration! So take your pick! It’s practically infinite!”
“No, how much will you pay me for each article?”
“Oh… standard rates now… one cent a word! Around Five hundred words! You do the mathematics! I was never any good at it! I was always best at debating in my school years! I handled the rebuttals! Had the other team scared stiff!”
Five hundred words. One cent a word. Five bucks an article. Standard rates indeed. Good heavens. It wasn’t even enough to buy the kilo of shitake mushrooms that he would need to get his shitake mushroom risotto on, which he had been hankering to do ever since watching that TV chef on the early morning program whip one up. He would have to write… ten articles? Or more? Who was he kidding, he didn’t know how much shitake mushrooms cost. He’d never bought shitake anything before in his life. He just liked saying the name. In his head.
“This is the only job you’ve got for me? I mean I can write anything you need: local council development projects, agony aunt columns, natural disasters, movie reviews, phoney editorials…”
“Good! You’ll write this!”
“But I don’t know anything about investing!”
“Hey! No need to get all hot under the collar! Use your indoor voice!”
“Sorry.”
“Anyway, use the internet! Do your research!”
“You want me to write pieces for the internet using information from the internet?”
“Exactly!”

TiVO Coming to Australia
Here is an interesting announcement from just the otherday that will really shake up the free to air TV channels.
For too long the channels have pushed more and more intrusive advertisements on us and found ways to shorten the real program content of their offerings.
Channel 10 recently announced that they would do away with credits all together in order to try and prevent channel switching. The painful reality is that it's not the credits of a show that induces channel switching, it's the quality of the programming. The hideous show "Big Brother" springs to mind....

Announced in a Sydney Morning Herald article this morning -
Seven’s long-awaited TiVo digital television recorder will go on sale in Australia next month, priced at $700.
The TiVo digital recorder has been a HUGE hit in the USA and I expect that the same will be the case here. The difference in Australia is that the TiVo box will be sold as an outright purchase as opposed to the subscription model they have in the USA.
TiVO will you to record all the free-to-air television channels (eg. ABC, Seven, Nine, Ten, SBS and their digital add-ons) using a built-in program guide. It will also provide access about 100 free internet video channels.
It will be interesting to see Foxtel’s response …."

Do you want to learn how to write articles fast? I mean writing an article in 10 minutes flat?
You can do it when you know these four principles.
1. Be Prepared
This may be the most important thing. You need to be ready before you turn off your computer.
You need to know that you are going to write 10 articles in less than two hours.
If you are not mentally prepared, you will not be able to do it.
2. Be organized
Do not do anything except writing articles. Do not start checking your emails and close everything that can prevent you to be productive like for example your MSN or hotmail messenger.
It is really important that you put yourself in a flow state. Don't let anything disrupt your zen state.
If you are working at home and you have children, you want to make sure that they are not going to make 'horrible' noise that can take the concentration you need.
It's better to write when they are at school.
3. Write fast
No need to say that you need to write fast. One of the factor that will increase your speed is typing with ten fingers. If you don't know, take a course.
It's not difficult. I took a 4 week course in a computer institute and now this is easy for me.
4. Same articles
Here is one of my secrets. I found that copying and pasting one of my already existing articles in the page I'm going to type in motivate me.
I don't really know why, but it works really well. I guess it's better than starting to type on a blank paper.

Let me share a short, but true story:
Earlier this week, a new author sent in 15 articles to our article directory, EzineArticles.com.
Those 15 articles received 400 page views within the past 24 hours.
Assuming that rate held constant, that author would receive 12,000 page views per month or 144,000 page views per year without lifting one more finger, not including the distribution potential of our site.
The average person clicks 3.3% on the resource box based on seed articles that we track the CTR (Click Through Rate), give or take .6% either way. Let's use 3% for easy numbers.
144,000+ page views annually x 3% CTR = 4,320 targeted clicks by someone who is already pre-qualified to be interested in your product, service or website because they just read your article.
Average CPC (Cost Per Click) ranges from .05 to $1.25.
Let's pretend that you buy clicks from your favorite PPC (PayPerClick) provider for $.40 cents per click.
Those 4,320 clicks that EzineArticles sent you for free just saved you (4,320 x $.40)= $1,728 USD.
Send in 30 articles, and you could be seeing $3k worth of FREE advertising or more.
My best example are the chart breakers like one of the health and beauty authors who sent in 35 articles and has over 212k page views in the last year. Recently a handful of authors received over 20,000 page views in their first month with only 3 articles that mentioned current events topics as part of their content. Your results may vary.
Which brings me to this question:
If you knew without a shadow of a doubt that you could get $10k-$25k+ in free advertising for 1-2 weeks of work submitting 85-200 articles, would you do it?
Average editor makes $10/hr. 100 hours of work would be about $1,000 in admin labor and I assume you already have the articles produced from your current archives that just need to be repurposed. Net result is about a $19k profit via the savings of not having to spend it to acquire sales via traditional online advertising.
Obviously, if you have to invest your time and labor to produce the articles for the first time, this adds to your cost... but most folks already have 100+ articles in an archive somewhere.
Should you stop PPC advertising now because of this? Absolutely not. Let article marketing supplement your targeted traffic buying campaigns, not replace it. For many entrepreneurs who have not started to buy advertising on a PPC basis, this is a great way to begin thinking about it.
Lastly, did I mention that your articles keep selling for you, day after day, month after month, and year after year? It’s true.
Get a plan together; submit 15, 150, or 1,500+ articles this month to the major article directories and specialty niche sites that accept your quality original content, and then sit back and watch your traffic results climb while your advertising expenditure budget gets a little relief.
